Postponed- Sound the Alarm! with American Red Cross
Dear CTAA Team,
As organizations around the world shift to cope with fallout from the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, the American Red Cross is also taking steps to minimize the risk for the people we serve and our workers.
As you know, we planned to hold Sound the Alarm home fire safety and smoke alarm installation events this spring. These will be postponed nationwide until further notice. Working with public health authorities, we are determining when these events are prudent and exploring alternate plans, which could eventually include appointment-based installations. We will keep you informed as details are finalized.
We want to assure you, as a Sound the Alarm supporter, that we remain committed to our mission of helping people prevent and survive home fires. Though the landscape may be changing, we will use your donation to continue this lifesaving work, and though the timing has shifted, we will deliver on promised benefits.
We are also so grateful for your employees/members, who’ve offered their valuable time as volunteers. Naturally, we are taking these precautions to keep them safe too.
As our planning advances, I will keep you updated. Please let me know if you have any questions in the meantime, and I hope you’ll consider sharing these safety and readiness tips based on guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). We are pushing them out on our communications platforms.
