Legislative Update

Community,

Steve Weir, CEO AIR and CTAA Government Relations Chair, hosted the Connecticut Apartment Association's first Legislative Breakfast on Wednesday, January 19th. The turnout was fabulous, with Business Partner Robert Chesson, Managing Partner, Landlord Law Firm, and past chair of Government Relations in attendance. As well as many key leaders from the Property Membership.

In attendance were Greg Konover, President, Konover Residential, David Parisier, Principal, Paredim Partners, Lori Ricci, SVP, WinnCompanies, Carlos Mouta, Principal Parkville Management & West Side Properties, Martin Kenny, Principal, Lexington Properties, Patrick Kenny, Lexington Properties, and Nate Kenny, Lexington Properties, and Kelly DeMatteo CTAA President and VP of Property Management, Trio Properties.

This valued and engaged CTAA delegation met with our Lobbyist John Bailey and CT Leaders, State Representatives Jill Barry, Craig Fishbein, Mike France, and Cara Pavalock-D'Amato.

Together the group discussed the value of providing quality housing in CT and how we can work together to discuss topics that affect the ability for landlords to do this well and at affordable rates to the residents of CT.

We are thankful to have our leaders working together for the greater good of the Association, its members, and Connecticut’s Future.
